NoQuarter might be right. Spark seams to be the issue with what you are describing. I can not speak on the coils because I have 165k on the dash and my original coils are good. Coils could cause the issue you are having but a code should be thrown. One or two maybe on their way out. If that is the case then all should be replaced. Me, I would wait until a code is thrown or troubleshoot the coils to make sure that is the issue. May I ask what type of plugs did you put in the car. If they aren't the right kind that could be an issue also. I see a lot of people buy cheap ones thinking they will get 100k out of them when actually they are 30k plugs.

My comment was just a generalization - not specific to this particular problem necessarily.
At 150,000 on the coils, he won't be disappointed replacing them regardless if it solves this particular problem or not.
Ageing coils have an affect on the performance regardless of whether it is bad enough to cause a code.

I weak spark is still a spark. The cylinder still fires.... just loses some of its mojo, leaving someone disappointed.

Thanks from my research that is what i had come up with only turbo engines come up when i search but wanted confirmation, like i stated every thing has been replaced or tested that i can think of even dealer cant seem to fix, next options wanted

ordered a set of ignition coils. Original BMW parts. Will attempt DIY WIll update next week after install whether im still having this issue.
