I am looking at purchasing the AC Schnitzer exhaust for my 08 528. I find the 528 a little slow and the AC adds 38hp.
Any thoughts? Shall i pull the trigger? Thanks Guys |
Go w/ RPi. I find it VERY VERY hard to believe that an exhaust can add 38hp.

A bolt on exhaust, even with headers will struggle to give 38 horsepower gains (and you wont pass emissions inspections). Especially on a 230~ HP engine.
The gains on the exhaust are like a couple of horsepower and pound/feet of torque. With that said, an exhaust definitely adds to the "butt dyno" and makes the car more enjoyable to drive. I would go for it. In all honesty, if you want a faster version of the E60, trade the 528 and get a 535 or a 550. Even the 530 pulls much harder than the 528 (had a few 528 loaners). Good luck. |
Here is the link to their website.
http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-ca...3/engineering/ Its the exhaust plus an ecu. I know i should have bought a 535 but its too soon to trade this one in. |
i still don't believe it.

Why not? Exhaust PLUS ECU remap - could be 38 horses. The engine in 528 is restricted anyhow - its not likely, but it is possible... kinda... I don't know...
|
well definitely not 38 bhp maybe at the crank.

Go with RPI  Eloy can install AND dyno it for you to show the REAL gains.
