My Ride: 2004 Silver BMW 525i, loaded w/o Nav 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer, loaded w/o Nav

Good morning,

We have a 525i, 2004- and at night, or when the car is moving (engine above idle) the A/C will actually cool off the car.

But, if you park for any length of time (stop & go traffic, red lights, waiting for you wife while she runs into the bank, or things of that nature) The air goes from cool to to not cool, and the car heats up REAL quick. It's been right at 100 degrees here the last few days, and we're predicted to go over 100 (already) by Thursday (tomorrow). Lackluster A/C is not a good thing in TX.

I checked the vent settings and all of that- the man's chest is blue on both the driver and passenger vent settings.

Is there something in the menu that tells the compressor to shut off at idle, or something?

I was driving it sunday, and it was nice & chilly in the car- but, as I was backing into the garage, I heard the compressor kick off, and cool but not cold air began to blow in. Something is causing the compressor to shut off at low/no speed. Is this a menu/settings problem, or is a trip to the dealer in our future?

I've always said this is the one area the USA (HVAC) has the advantage over all other automakers.
