Mine starts to cool almost immediately. On a hot day I get in my car, cool my sunglasses off with the a/c and I'm off driving within 2 mins.
I've been using the automatic ventilation feature, too. I set it to start at 5:10 and I'm usually out of work around 5:30-5:40. When I get out to the car it's not too hot inside.
