Temperatures reach 50-51C(122-124F) in saudi arabia and never happened in any of my car or my dad's bimmer, or for the fact to any bimmer friends i have over there. Make sure to take it to the dealer to have it fixed since ur under warranty.

Looking back at it now, I'm thinking maybe it is low on r134a (or whatever it is called) and it just was taking a long time to reach its operating temp bc of that. Me being as impatient as I am, I prolly just didn't wait for it to come on when I tried it last night.

Glad everything is working ok but i still advice you to go check it out at the dealer since ur still under warranty and paying 0$.
The refrigerant - 134a is only the name of the gas that is inside the compressor that cools ur cabin. It has nothing to do with the compressor or fan to work, just keep that in mind. This is why when u are low in r143a, you still get air in the cabin but a higher in temperature making it ambient rather than cold, so the solution is to add r134a. So ur fan or compressor not working like yesterday has nothing to do with the gas.
You dont want that incident to happen to you while your suited up and going for an interview or meeting and arrive all sweaty and smelly. Also, you dont want to get embarrased and happen while u have friends, parents-in-law, family with you.
Just take precaution and have it checked at the dealer since its for free

Yes, I'm planning to have the car inspected at a dealer one last time b4 the warranty is up in November anyway, so I'll be making sure they look at this kinda close. The thing is that right now I'm very close to trading this car in and getting a 335 coupe - if I do that, then I don't care about this issue - let BMW worry about it. If I decide to keep the car another season or two, then I'll definitely be taking it to my favorite service dept at BMW of Manhattan
