Got into my car today to go to work and everything is fine. ok. Insert the key fob, stab the clutch pedal, press "Start Engine" - car started, lights came on, everything looks fine, but... no air at first I dismissed it thinking the AC didn't have enough time to get to work, so I switched the AC off and rolled down the windows and started driving. Few blocks later, thought I'd put the AC on after all - it was kinda hot, to be honest. Tap the "Auto" button, all the lights come on, but still no air. I leave it on for a few mins to see if it "warms up". Nothing. After turning on and off all the possible combinations of AC, heat, fan and MAX, I've deduced the following:
1. No air is circulating. At all. Not on any setting, not through ANY of the fans - regardless of how I channel the air and whether AC or Heat is on.
2. There's some muffles click-like noised coming "from within" the dash when I switch the HVAC system on. The engine also gives off a slight "shake" when I turn the AC on - as if the compressor starts. Except it doesn't. Or at least, I don't hear it - I only hear the engine hesitate for a sec.
Help

If your car is still under warranty, then it shouldn't cost you anything. GL

Common, someone tell me what this can be please!
I've searched through the forums and cannot find anything on a similar problem. All I could find is how people have condensation and how they hate that the AC turns on by itself every time you start the car. That's pretty much it - that and some threads on leather conditioners...

Well, I certainly don't want to sound like everyone else and say take it to the dealer... SO...
If there's no cold/cool air coming you'll need to do some investigation.
The clicking should be the AC clutch kicking in to run the compressor. That's also why the engine should shudder a little - there's added load.
Do some digging under the hood.
Check the coolant lines around the compressor:

One side should be hot and the insulated side should be cold. If one side is not cold then the compressor may be bad or you have a coolant leak.
The cost of the repair all depends on the problem. If you just have a leak in the system, a patch and then a recharge will be fairly inexpensive. If the compressor has gone bad, I'd think that's a hefty bill since the amount of dissmantelment. If the the fan around the evaporator is bad, that's just digging down to it to replace it.

I don't know if this helps pinpoint the problem more accurately, but there is NO AIR blowing through the fans at all - neither hot, nor cold - the fans never come on.

maybe its just something minor. Either the fan is no longer working. I think its the labor that will cost rather than the fan hope im wrong though. GL
