I had the sports seats in my X5 and they were extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, I have the base seats on the 530 and I still haven't gotten use to them. In the future, it will be sport or comfort seats for me.

My new 545 has the Sport seats- I agree with the comment about the headrest being too far back. Also, I have the lumber support as deflated as possible, but it still feels like I have too much "support" back there. Otherwise, they were fine for the initial 400 mile drive.

I have the sport seats. Could be better. They were much more comfortable in my E39. Also the comfort seat has the active head restraint and the comfort seat does not - Safer imho.

I have the sport seats, and I think they're pretty good. I'd probably fork out the $$$ for the comfort if I had the chance.
I don't have the patience to order a car, so I just have to find whichever one has the most stuff at the dealership and go with that. Maybe next time.

Okay, the sports seat aren't bad, but I could use the back articulation. Is there a way to just replace the backrest and not the entire seat....iceman..???

I don't find the standard seats very comfortable in my car - they're ok but I wish I had comfort seats. I think lumbar support is now included though so that might make a difference.

I'm in the UK and still waiting for my car..... I tried all seats at the dealership and a test drive with comfort seats really made the difference for me - the articulating backrest affords much better shoulder support and therefore a more comfortable & relaxing drive IMHO.
I had already chosen the Luxury Pack (Advance aircon, full electric seat adj, Dakota Leather, Poplar wood inlay). With this pack the comfort seats were an extra ?750-790 - [pre wk9 vs post wk9] If i didn't go for the comfort seats then I would definitely have opted for lumbar support on standard seats [?230?] So the net difference was approx ?500 ---> I felt this was worth it.
Granted if UK luxury pack not chosed then ?1300-1400 is quite a price to pay. However - it pays to look at all the options - so to speak.
I am not sure whether this would work in US though - is the premium pack the equivalent to our Luxury pack?

I think it's so cool when you turn on the ignition and the seat hugs you. And when the passenger fasten his seat belt the seat hugs him. If the passenger isn't used to the e60 he is allways saying something like "It felt like the seat huged me."
Me:"It did"

Get the comfort seats!!? I wish that I had.?
Oddly enough, I never had back problems until a month after I got my e60 (sport seats).? I've tried many different combinations of seat/steering wheel positions.? It could be something entirely unrelated... But it sure is an odd cooincidence.? Actually, with 2-3 back appointments a week for the past 10 months, my massage lady will probably be a member of this forum soon.![Wacko](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/wacko.gif)

I agree. I tried everything and I still can not find the right position.
The massage lady will be able to offer the M5 soon!
