So the other day i went to umnitza to pick up my M5 bumper and Side skirts. They have a sale on M5 bumper for $295, sweet deal if u ask me, Also Tim, gave me a good deal on the side skirts. While i was there i also asked about HID kit for the fog lights. Tim offered me a 9006 6000k Hid slim kit for my fogs, when i asked him if they will cause any idrive error, he said no and assured me idrive doesnt throw any errors for fog lights.....my question is it true? if yes then why are the HID kits for fogs light selling for $125 or more when you can get 9006 hid kit on ebay for $40 shipped?

Also one of my hid bulb is turning pink, so i wanna replace the bulb..where should i buy the replacment bulb? and is it D1C? i check on sylvannia and thats the bulb number i got?

Can i buy the D1C bulbs on ebay? or i have to buy from a specific person>?

thank you guys

No nothing on eBay is any good, nothing, once you have a user name here you can only buy from the vendors here or you will be banned.

I have the $37 ones for my fogs. They only last a year or so though. I also have the $8 D2S bulbs for my headlights. no issues but my history with these are they only last a year or two. and fitment maybe a issue too . I put a pair on a lexus (size specific D4S) and they just would not work, even thought it was just a bulb replacement.

Tim is incorrect.

The fogs can throw iDrive error. This is a fact.

I'll chime in here...

I sell "cheaper" HID kits and have had them installed on ALL of my cars. I personally have never had any problems with them. I have them on my e60 fogs and use canbus cancelers aka giant resistors. ZERO problems at all. There is no real reason to spend 200-300 dollars. It really is about getting a balance of quality and price. I can get $15 hid kits that have a 10% failure rate or $300 kits that have a .05% failure rate.

On my kits at least, if a bulb goes out in a year or two... it is less then 8 dollars a bulb to replace. Also most places have at least a one year warranty.

You can check out the kind of HID kits I sell @ www.trueprojectorheadlights.com

I sell them for $5 with the HID kits. You can buy them on ebay pretty cheap too.

It's okay if they throw an error, just buy a canceler/resistor for them.
