Default 6MT fluid overfill?

I replaced the transmission fluid on my 6MT 09 535i today. It drained about 1.5 liters or so of fluid. However, after almost 1.8 liters of refill, the fluid did not come out the fill hole. It was still just below the fill hole when I put my finger in it. So, I stopped refilling and plugged everything up. The car was perfectly level, so now I am a bit worried. The Bentley says the gearbox has a 1.6 capacity. Did I overfill the gearbox?

After more research, I found this link:

Changing Transmission Fluid in the 135i

I assume this is the same gearbox. He states he used about 2.5 quarts. Now I am really confused. Sheesh.

My son and I change our 6MT's fluid late last year. IIRC, it took just shy of 2 liters to fill it.

I had access to a lift and rechecked the fluid level (kowing that the lift is definitely level - as compared to my garage floor, ramps, and jack stands). As soon as I pulled the fill plug, a tiny dribble of fluid came out - signifying that it had not been overfilled. So, just under 2 quarts is correct. In case anyone cares, I used the ueberexpensive OEM lifetime fill from the dealer (car is still CPO).

Thanks
