6-CD Changer not detected by Car

My Ride: 550i Manual Sport
Model Year: 2007
Engine: 4.8 L N62 V8
I purchased a 2007 550i a few months ago. I just recently tried the CD changer and loaded all slots. But the computer does not detect it. Before i waste my time by going to the dealer, can any of you guys tell me what i'm doing wrong?

It may have been installed, after delivery, by the previous owner but every accessory must be recognized by the s/w ... likely will require a dealer visit to ensure there are no s/w issues. If it's original equipment there should be no charge in warranty period. Is the car still in warranty??
