I read that the 2005 model year has a 6 CD changer in dash. Is that correct. I thought it was in the glove compartment.
Anybody know for sure?

No. Still in the glove box. That is (for BMW) in-dash, since the glove box is in the dash...

THere is a slot for one CD in the dash as well as a magazine for 6 in the glove.

just a technicality. The glove box is part of the dash, so it is "in dash"...

Pain in the ass trying to change the 6 disc cartridge while driving, too.

I can barely reach.

I know that the glove compartment is in the dash. I was just hoping that BMW would join the new milennium and use a nice space-saving CD changer where all 6 CD's disappear into the radio right there in front of you.
I've had that in my Japanese build Toyota for the last 3+ years. It pains me to see that the Germans have not gotten it right, yet, especially since I am German myself.

The German engineers got it right, from the safety point of view. They don't want accidents, because somebody was paying more attention to the damn CD changer than to the traffic.

Even with 2001 Honda Accord has in dash 6 CD changer, but still satisfied with BMW so far.
BMW has 6 cd changer in glove compartment if you get premium sound package. or else. just single Cd in dash.
