In terms of acceleration, how does the 550i compare to the 335 coupe?
0-60 and rolling?

 

stock vs. stock 0-60 the 335i is faster by a tenth or two, no idea about rolling. If the 335 (or even a 535) has a cheap tuner on it the 550 will get beat in both 0-60 and rolling start no matter what mods the 550 has unless it is a supercharger or something.

I've seen modded 335i beat stock M5 off the light, eventually the M5 catches up and passes though so I'd assume it's the same for a 550i lol.

 

I'd say that a 335 will take a 5er off the line due to weight. From a roll, idk. Two different classes tho. The 335 is fun and nimble, 550 is spacious yet powerful.

 

from a roll, the 550i will win. I had a chance to test this with a buddy on the autobahn. did not get video though but I was able to stay ahead of him, and at speeds greater than 90mph or so, i started walking him.

at regular highway speeds, i think it really is just a case of who mashes on the gas first, because they are pretty close. at higher speeds is where the 550i earns its money.

unmodded 335i coupe, of course.
