I have a auto 08 550i, I usually drive in D mode but when I want full performance I shift into manual mode but it always start off in 2nd gear "M2", I have to manually shift into 1st gear "M1". Is there anyway I can change so it will go into 1st gear whenever I'm in manual mode from stop???

Sure, if you want the car to start from 1st, all you have to do is pop the shifter into D/S...so basically pop it into manual mode, but don't move the shifter up or down...

That is the only way that I know to start in first gear. Damn those concessions to fuel economy.

Do you have the sport automatic (paddles)? If so, you can press the "sport" button below the shifter and I think you'll start off in first gear no matter what mode the shift lever is in...

Then I guess my best answer for you is to simply put the pedal to the metal and by golly, she'll start out in first for ya! :D :cool:
