Anybody know if the engine cover from a 550i will fit on a 545i? I understand the blocks are different, but the top end sure looks similar.

I'll bite. Question is why do you want to? Attachment points may differ - buy it and try?

Personal taste, but I've never worried about engine cosmetics to the point of spending any money, especially to make the engine look like something it isn't. Hell, mine is covered in dust, and for the number of times the hood is open (almost never), it really doesn't bother me. Your money to do what you will though.

I guess that Audiophool was just curious. I remind you that you were the first to wonder why nobody was responding quickly. Looks like folks couldn't respond because nobody would do what you were asking to do and therefore couldn't offer any advice.

Not sure how my questions or opinions caused offence, but I hope you can get over it.

This isn't the most heavily travelled forum for E60 cars, and I'm sure there are others that would be more helpful. You may find these forums have a lot more 'cut and thrust' than this one which is quite tame.

Doesn't matter anyway - he/she has said that he/she is moving on, although I do think that I saw another post by photoguy on another thread.
