Hi folks

Original OEM BMW M-Package 19" 550i rims (style 172) the sizes are
Front 19x8 1/2 ET:18
Rear 19x9 1/2 ET:32

Will these fit on an 04 530i?

Any change in ride quality?

Lastly, these are on sale locally, is $900 a good price for the set w/o tires, depending on the condition of course.

Cheers

The answer to your question is yes. The 172 wheels will fit your car. Your tire sizes will be 245/35R19 in the front and 275/30R19 in the rear.

Depending on what your current wheel/tire combination is, your ride quality will change significantly (if you are on 17" or smaller) or slightly (if you are on 18"). You will have to be careful of potholes, bumps, and any other road hazards because of impact rim bending, as larger wheels have less tire sidewall protecting them. Plus parallel parking must be done with more care because there is greater risk of curb rash. Once again because of less tire protecting the rim.

As for the price, you will have to consider condition, but also how long the wheels were used by the previous owner. $900 may be a bargain, or it may be over priced. But if the wheels are were not used very long and are in 'new' condition, it seems $900 is a reasonable price. To give you an example, a set of brand new 166 M wheels (the ones on an M5) brand new costs about US$1600/set from the parts department at Newport BMW.

It's a deal in Canada, curb rash will be about $125 a corner to fix if they are damaged, have a tire shop confirm they are not bent or cracked as well . Good luck
