I you are looking for a daily driver then go with the 535i you get better gas mileage. But if ou have a short commute and drive mostly on weekends then a 550i maybe right for you. You will find more 550i's with the msport package than the 535. I believe the 535 did get the package till 09 or 10. The seller for me was the MSport package first and all the other options made me buy my 550i. The MSport makes the car look so much better than the base models. The car really stands out.

Completely agree, the M-sport pkg makes a huge difference. Although, even then the 550 wins, since it comes with 19" 172 wheels instead of the 18" wheels the 535 with M-sport comes with. The only E60 models to come with 19" wheels are the 550 M-sport and the M5.

I do agree the M Sport looks great. I am finding quite a few 550 and 535 M Sports for about the same price, but the 550s are 08's and the 535's are 2010's.

Oh yea i love my style 172's to death! Gives a smooth ride, apperance and they are staggered. A few people tried to buy my rims from me. They look great when your car is rolling down the street

I would try to find a 2010 Msport 550 with the newer I drive and controls if possible.

2010 535i, but I'm biased, since that's what I went with... The price premium of about $5k - $8k for the same year similarly equipped (CPO) just wasn't there for me to go with the 550i. I love the throaty V8 sound and power on demand regardless of tune/mode, but the torque and performance of the N54 is unmatched after throwing a tune on it! Couple that with the weight savings, fuel economy, and more neutral handling of the 535i, and it's hard not to give it the nod if performance is what you're after! M-territory is very close at hand for a fraction of the price. However, you do have to look a lot harder to find a well optioned 535i, but they are out there! They typically do go fast though, so be prepared to jump. Reliability has also been a non-issue for me, as the only issue I've had thus far has been with my DVD/I-drive unit being replaced under warranty. Everything else has been flawless!

Almost forgot, although the L6 will never sound as good as the V8 from an exhaust perspective, I adore the sound of the turbos spooling through my DCI. It sounds like a fighter jet WOOOOSHHHHHHH... Personally, I am drooling over the new F10 550i, because it's the best of both worlds!

Stick with a 550. I was shopping for 335, then a 535, then saw and test drove the 550 and bought it. IMHO Used 535 and 550 prices are not that much different.

Had a 08 535I, until a drunk driver totalled it out. Went into a 08 550i as its replacement. Though I missed the better gas milage, and the fun of the turbo's, I loved that 08 550i, so much so, that a few months ago, I up graded to a fully loaded 10 550i M Sport. Minus the heated steering wheel my 08 had, I LOVE this car. Newer i drive is awesome, the black interior with the stainless steel inserts, M steering wheel with shifters.,.,.,pure heaven.
