I saw a grey 550 in Boston.....around I-90....it has 545 rims and looks like a 545....is it a real 550 or doid the owner just change the badge out of boredom?????

I assume he changes the badge. There is no 550i available at North America yet.

550i is confirmed for September 2005 start of prodction, as is the new Start/Stop button and key like the E90 3 Series

It looks like the 540i will allso be built

So what engine will the new 540i have?? So they stopped making the 540 to start making it agian a few years later?? :wacko:

BMW does make a 3.9l with the Valvetronic. It may have been for the Land Rover.

They are probably bringing it back as a step between the 530 and 550 from cost and performance.

When I was having a vibration issue with my 545i, the dealer was supposed to check my crank to see if it was for a 4.4l or 3.9l

The same engnie as the new facelift 740i ( replaced the 735i, not shure if USA got these models )

Its 4.0L 225Kw (about 302 Hp)

I don't think USA will get 540i model. It should follow 7-series a bit.

So is the new start\stop button standard on all E60s in September? I realize Comfort Access is an option, but is the start\stop button standard like on the E90?
