545i USA headlight operation question

My Ride: 545i DINAN
Model Year: 2004
Engine: E60
Hi
I searched through dozens of pages looking for anything related...
The adaptive headlights (xenon) also have a H7 bulb that burns dim under normal running conditions and when the lights are set in the city/parking switch position.
That H7 also seems to be lit full when using the headlight "flash" function
When I turn on the headlights to auto or full, and then set to "high beams" while sitting in the garage, that H7 now stays dark.
Is that the correct operation? Does that bulb ever light under road conditions?
Nothing in the manuals seems to address that.

I believe the H7 is for daytime running light and flash only. I've never seen mine light unless I flash.

There are two high beam functions you can activate:
1. High beam H7: between the grill and xenon - by pulling turn signal stalk toward you
2. High beam xenon: by pushing turn signal stalk toward the front.
I might mess up with which direction stalk is pull/push, but my main point is we have two high beam functions.
