Hi,
I am having a problem to start the engine when it's warm. Engine starts for 2-3 seconds with around 350-500 RPM and then it dies. When I try the second time is starts normally and I don?t have any problems. It is 2005 545i Manual with 92k I replaced already the Pressure Regulating Valve - Repair Kit. https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=85337 After that I am getting much better gas milage, but it didn't fix my problem. Any suggestions? |

Sure sounds like a fuel pressure problem, like a check valve not holding pressure, with cold starts being pressurized by a different system and so not affected.
Is the check valve inside the fuel pump? Do I need to replace the pump? |

Thank you for the answer.

Hey Dawid, I've been noticing the same problem on my '04 545i 6 spd. On warm starts, it will start, then die. Then typically has been starting up on the second try.
Have you been able to diagnose your problem? Thanks for the insight! Jake |
