I have a 2005 545i with smg. Smg pump died. Replacement was really straight forward. The only issue I had which may be helpful to someone (since finding info on the 545i smg has not been extremely easy) was that when I got the new pump in, it did not prime. I was pretty upset, but got back to work problem solving it. When I would activate the pump with my Foxwell scanner, I would hear a click coming from the upper left area of the engine bay (the box where the ivm is). I pulled out the transmission control module and made sure all wiring harnesses were connected well, and I activated the pump again. While listening very closely, I found the clicking was actually coming from the green 30 amp single fuse that is located right in front of the transmission control module. I tested the fuse and it was bad. Put in a new fuse and the pump fired right up!

Was your car able to start before the fix. Was it turning over at all. My car doesn’t turn over at all
