While the car sounds great with a cold start, it drones much more than I expected it would between 1000 - 2200 rpm, even with the windows up.

Anyone in the north side of Chicago with a similar setup willing to meet up and see if it's just my car that sounds this way, or do all E60 V8s sound this way with the RPI, Eisenman, or Magnaflow?

I'm hoping my family gets used to this, as I'd hate to give it up!

My RPI drones from 1,500 - 2,000 rpm. Driving in DS helps avoid the low rpms.

Sounds normal. 1500-2000 RPM's is the sweet spot for the droning. I hear it with my Magnaflow setup. You'll get used to it after awhile. It seems to be a characteristic of the V8's regardless of which aftermarkey exhaust you go with. Some may be better than others I have heard. I can only comment on my Magnaflow setup. These cars have a lot of torque down low.

how many miles do you have on your rpi exhaust?

Yea that's normal, but trust me, you'll get used to it after a while. If not, RPi offers silencer inserts I believe. You would have to contact Eloy@RPi for those.

from what I've heard and read, the drone decreases after you've put some miles on it......

I'll give it another 200 miles or so... My ears may get used to it, but wife rides in it with me once/week, so she'll be the one who notices if the car becomes a little more quiet...

Krozi, congrats on your RPI race exhaust... AWESOME video! I didn't hear any droning in your vid, like I hear in my car. That M3 of yours is white hot, and you can hear it waayyyy before you can see it coming!

I've got about 600 miles on mine now and the drone is still there 1000-2000 RPM.
