Hello im new to this forum and glad i joined. I have a 2004 545i with the sport package and while driving today. My car started to lose power and then the active steering/suspension malfunction light, brake pads, battery terminals, and a gear emblem/transmission malfunction appeared on the message center. Then the message center monitor went black. Left the car off for a few hours and when i turn it on all the messages were gone and everything was back to normal. Has anyone ever experienced this! Could i need a new battery.

I had those same symptoms. New alternator from the dealer fixed the problems.

check your battery's age first.
remove the carpeted right side panel in trunk. battery manufacture date is stamped on top of egative post.

its not the battery-once you are moving and driving the battery does nothing-its the alternator that will do that

but it dont hurt to check it first. its possible the battery is original and has a weak cell. or maybe see a loose connection...
