I always wanted a BMW but ever since I got this car back in July I have been back and forth to the dealer. I can't remember If I was ever able to drive this BMW for a week with out any issues :thumbsdown: . That being said I know all you love your E60 but I am very sad to say I will NEVER buy another BMW. BMW's should not have these types of issues. I understand things break and it has to be fix but this out of control.

While driving to work this morning my 04 545i went crazy. The I-Drive started to flash on and off then my ABS, BRAKE light comes on , then the transmission could not get out of first gear, (was not able to get any pics) then the battery icon shows up the list goes on and on.... Pulled over and shut the car off and could not get it started again until after about 30 minutes or so. Could a weak battery cause issues likes this since almost everything is driven software/computer or is there a more serious problem.

Sad to say, but my ONLY bad BMW was the 04 545i. Fortunately I kept it in beautiful shape and traded it, quite favorably I might add, on my new ride.
You may want to consider a similar course of action if this vehicle has not left too bad of a taste in your mouth. The 550i is truly remarkable. Test it and you will immediately know the difference. Hopefully you purchased a CPO so you can approach any dealer for a trade, given the extended warranty. Blame it on the ill fitting sports seats and not on anything mechanical and you may receive a good deal.

After a week my the dealer again... I got my car back.... They replace the power distribution unit, battery, clean the battery ground wire and clean the fuse box in the trunk. So far the car is running much better prior my recent issues.

Please don't let this discourage you from enjoying your e60. I had the same problem with my '04 545i, and what they found was that my car needed a new battery. I haven't had any problems since, and I really enjoy the car. Good Luck!
