I was wondering has anyone with a 545i, setup their exhaust with the resonators in place first, then mufflers going out to some tips. I know the most popular setup is to have a dual in/ dual out muffler installed, then to resonators.
This idea came to me from my old E46 M3 which had the RE El Diablo exhaust with rasp pipe installed. Which the rasp pipe was installed up front , then it went out to the muffler section at the rear.
So would it make a difference in sound level with the resonators installed first then muffler or vice versa.

Most have left the stock resonators installed and added additional resonators or like in my case mufflers after the 2 in/2 out to eliminate any drone. My setup is ok but could be a tad louder. If you go straight pipe out of the muffler typically you will have drone under 2000 rpm.
