I was driving on the taconic parkway yesterday afternoon when a 2004 sl500 challanged me .I hit the gas and he couldnt keep up.Finally after pulling about 8 -10 carlengths away hitting 134 mph ,I slowed down.I saw the guy up the road and he now says the the bmw 550 will be his next car

Hey Fellas, how's about a Westchester meet?
The parking lot next to Finn Mccool's in White Plains, any other suggestions?
NYS Thruway, Taconic or the Sprain You can nail it!
Bronx River, Saw Mill, or Hutchinson River Parkway
Some parts are too twisty for anythying over 90mph
BTW i would venture to say ML55, CL500, S500 and SL500 are yours for the taking, dunno about a CL600, S600 or SL600 though.

There is a spot on the Bronx River Parkway - between White Plains and Hartsdale - with a tight little S curve. I have driven this strecth of road twice a day, 5 days a week for about 8 years. I have on more than one occaision taken E55's though the turns. I let them get in front of me, follow closley until I see the break lights, switch lanes, and blow by them. I have done this to many "faster" cars.
Fast is good, and the e60 is fast, but it is the handling that realy sets the car apart.

[/quote]exactly what i was thinking. i mean, we can keep arguing that our bmws are better cars (because they are), but you cant really argue with twin turbo charged 6-litre V12.
