Although I have the OEM iPod connector in the car by replacing the CD Changer. I find the need to add a USB even more pressing.
This way it gives me the opportunity to purchase any phone and have it playback music and use Blue Tooth for phone calls.

What do I need to do to get USB installed with the existing 545 non Nav setup?

I have the really cool & expensive answer for you: CIC & Combox mod. Thats probably way more than you are looking for, but I started with your question & ended up here.

If you just want USB integration for audio Im not aware of how to do just that...

I don't think I can spend the money or justify the costs associated. Looks like I will have to keep it the way it is and upgrade my phone to iPhone 5 which is not a bad choice.

Another route I took is using Dension ... it's been done for a long time so try do an extensive search and you shall find out ... it gives me iPod plug, RCA AUX input and USB.
