Is this normal? After driving I just reciently noticed... I dont usually go touching the car but its really really HOT by the top of the front grill... really warm air is pouring out of the grill and the top part of the grill is HOT to the touch...
Everything seems normal on the car though... I dont get any warnings... and the temperature guage shows... oh wait... I dont have a temperature guage!!!
Can anyone confirm?

My Ride: Arrived 3 June 2005: 2005 545i - Orient Blue, Black interior, Sport, Steptronic, Cold Weather, NAV, Sirius, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Sunshades. What a glorious ride!
When I did the "once-over" at the local spray-n-wash, wearing sandals, my feet edged under the front doors just beneath the exhaust. WOW! The space under the car could be used as a toaster-oven. Never have I driven a car with exhaust pipes that hot.

My car gets very hot too... Try opening the hood after a drive. I almost burnt my fingers trying to release the safety latch. I think the aluminum conducts the heat throughout the whole front of the chassis.

It's normal. The 545 engine produces that much heat.

Could all the aluminum in the front-end have anything to do with it? It conducts heat better than steel, right?
