Does anyone know if BMW is considering a 4 wheel drive 545i/550i? All the news that I am reading about the 4-wheeler 5 series are 525i and 530i.

Also, do you think a 4 wheel drive 545/550 will have better performance than the rear wheel drive models?

First driving experiences are in the Euro Press now and are promising; it is probably for technical reasons that BMW are selling the "small" engines with AWD first. Both Audi and Mercedes offer their big engines with Quattro/4 matic too, so I see no reason why BMW won't develop such a version in the future. On the other hand one should not forget that BMA X sales were never very high compared to Audi

Driving in wet and snow is much improved (think of traction etc)
