If you guys read my first thread you know that i'm going to be picking up a used 530i/535i in the near future. My question is, what pricing do you think is fair for either of the two cars?
The options i'm looking for in the car is: Silver/Black interior/Navi/Sport Pkg/45K-65K Miles
The pricing that i'm hoping for is:
If I go with the 530i (2007) $22-24K out the door
If i go with the 535i (2008) $25-26K out the door
Non-CPO
How realistic is this? Is this low ball or could this be pulled off with some good haggling? Thoughts guys? What car would you choose if you haven't already said so in my previous thread? Keep in mind i'm going to be driving 25K+ miles per year(so reliability is a factor in this, at the same time if i went with the 530i I would need to spend money for the conversion to LCI).
I intend to go through with the purchase in just a few months, (Octoberish) unless of course I see something good sooner.

Any thoughts on the 535i pricing in California?? ![Cool](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Also, regarding the warranty....lets say I have a CHEAP mechanic that works independently when he's not at a BMW/Benz shop...would that suffice for having a 535i (provided I keep a few grand in the bank)...or still a bad idea?

CPO 535i prices are in the range of 31-34k depending on mileage and other factory options installed. But its around that ball park.
Regarding maintenance warranty, its being discussed here: https://5series.net/forums/topic/114...cpo-2008-535i/
You don't need to purchase the maintenance warranty for 2K+ if you have an independent mechanic who knows his stuff or you are good with performing regular maintenance check yourself.
All N54 Engines (535i) are covered by warranty for 100k miles automatically. This is due to the HPFS failure.
Oil change, Brakes, Rotors, Micro filter and other small jobs shouldn't cost 2K+. You can buy the parts from the vendors on this forum (Mike@Acute Performance & Trinity) and do it yourself.

That's the first time I've heard this. Are you sure? BMW has extended the HPFP warranty to 10 years/120,000 miles, but I am unaware of anything that extends the warranty for the whole engine.
