I have had had turbos before and am awaiting a 535 which landed today in NY ports. The turbos are spinning at 100,000 rpm, It would be normal to here some whine- even desirable.
I also ordered the light poplar wood, how do you like it?

The light poplar will look beautiful with the Natural Leather option. I think you will love it.

At low speeds, I notice a whining or chirping that I have assumed is caused by the turbos. I hear the sound until the engine and road noise become dominant.
I am trying to determine if this sound is inherent to the car.
Are you other 535i owners hearing a similar sound?

You are correct, there is a whine at low revs. I think it's kind of cool. You don't hear it inside the car only outside if your windows are open and it's quite outside.

A whining? Is your wife or girlfriend in the car when you hear whining? If so, ask her to get out and then drive the car, the whining will be gone.
Very funny... of course until one of the female forum members reads it.
