Brought my car in last week for the software update (I already have the 'new' pump). Had to bring it back on Sat to have a piece of trim replaced and the dealer tells me there is now a campaign to test and/or replace the injectors.

 

Yup, my second HPFP (the supposed good improved design part) crapped out two weeks ago. The software update was performed when the second HPFP was installed. Had it towed to the dealer. No power and white/blue smoke out the exhaust as it started to destruct. Installed the third HPFP and they replaced 5 out of 6 injectors. Appears to be running fine now. Only 5 weeks left till lease return. Hasta la vista.

 

I got 3 new injectors - fingers crossed.

 

fuck... I got new fuel pump, car LIMP mode leaving after.. another 2 days, replaced all spark plugs, now... 2 months later, I hit the start button and it takes like 8 tries before it starts! Im thinking its the injectors now! fucking car was running PERFECT Why did I get the new fuel pump! I hate you BMW service.

 

Had HPFP replaced after several Limp modes, got new HPFP and stock sw, gotfor GIAC reflashed again, car ran fine since May 2010.

Two weeks ago, she went in for some minor repairs, was told recall for injectors, 4 were replaced, did not get sw overwritten . Car ran the same.

hmmm i went couple days ago to get my brake fluid flushed ... they gave me loaner car n they they changed my hpfp n injectors too ... car feels more responsive i hope it doesnt mess up my car was running good b4 but for some reason it feels faster . maybe cause they lend me a 2011 328 lol

 

I didn't get any recall letter or wasn't told anything about the injector recall, if my vehicle is running fine can I call them up and still ask to have them replaced?

 

i didnt get any recall notification ... just go n im sure they will replace it .. got new wiper s, rubber strip front n back window n fix my knee bolsters too

 

They seem to be rolling the recall out in waves. Hasn't appeared they have went in any sort of order (model year, etc.), my guess is it has more to do with making sure the supply of parts doesn't get blown out.

 

Was taking my car in today to get the battery replaced (Increased battery discharge), and mentioned to them that I had heard they were replacing the injectors on 535i's. The guy basically told me he didn't know of any injectors needing to be replaced on my vehicle.
