My Ride: 535D AM SPORT 06 (07 for you US Guys ;-) Carbon Black Professional Sat Nav 6CD Changer Automatic Aircondition Advance (Standard fit) Bluetooth Telephone Preperation with Telematics Preperation Extended Voice Control System M 19" Mixed Wheels Style 172M BMW Online BMW Assist Graduated Tinted Windscreen Bi-Xenon Headlights Adaptive Headlights Headlight Wash System Black Dakota Leather Rear Spoiler Spare Wheel M Rear Spoler Sun Protection Glass Heated Front Seats BMW Velour Floor Mats BMW Service and Maintenance for 5 years/60,000 miles Tracker - Echo

When I slot the key fob (push button start model) in to the hole the steering seems to get stuck and makes a clunk clunk noise and I sometimes need to help it out of it's lock position - this does not happen all the time but sometimes it gets stuck. Has anyone else experienced this? Am i doing something wrong?

When this happens the idrive also displays a warning saying steering lock active

Yeah, this happens to me every now and then. I think it's just the steering lock not disengaging properly. It happened on my E36 325i sometimes aswell. Just a little wiggle of the wheel sorts it out, I don't think it's anything to be worried about.
