My Ride: 535d Eccelsa, 05 2005 (built 12-04), sapphireblack, beige dakota leather, electric seats, poplar wood trim, sport suspension, 124 style 18" alloys, differentiated f/r runflat tyres, steptronic, adaptive light control, bi-xenon, BMW PRO nav, cd, cd changer, electric-foldable and automatic antidazzle rear mirrors, automatic antidazzle internal rear mirror, adjustable central armrest, BT, Hifi Professional LOGIC7 , extended functions aircon, full lighting package, green comfort fascia on windshield, PDC park distance control, voice control, CPT9000 car phone, BMW Assist, BMW On-line, BMW Tracking, alarm system, programmable remote controls.
Just received a phone call from my dealer (not a letter, strange): they told me that my car is on a recall programm to replace the high pressure fuel pump of the diesel injection system!
That's a bloody expensive piece of equipment and I'm a little worried about traveling all over Italy BEFORE they will replace the pump (scheduled in middle November) living with the risk of having a dead engine somewhere and at any moment. The dealer couldn't give me any detail about the recall.
Anybody else has been contacted for the same reason?

I shouldn't worry too much - BMW Assist is there to save the day!

My Ride: 530d (Jan 2005) premium pack, pro nav, steptronic
I had the same for my 530d in May 2005. No problem. I think all BMW 6-cylinders diesel cars produced from September 2004 to February 2005 are concerned.

Mines registered March 05 but not sure what the build date is. I suppose I'll just have to wait for my dealer to call unless BMW Uk have "No news is good news" policy.

I finally got my car 3 weeks later. So cars produced later than beginning Feb as mine and yours should no be affected.

My Ride: 535d (4/05) M Sport, Carbon black, Black dakota leather, Sport seats, Xenon, Navi prof, Hi-fi pack, AS, BT, PDC, Sunroof
the production date on mine is 25/04/2005 so I hope its not affected, but I think I still have to update my CIP since I get a "brake system fault" error message every time I start the car and hold the brake pedal for a second or two too long. Plus my door seals dont seem to be that quiet either.
