BMW530,

I've not noticed the absence of any flaps as I can't remember if my last car had them fitted. Your right there's nothing behind the grills on the new one - just the rad. Any pics of these flaps?

New535,

Oooo Like the leather on the top gadget comfort seats, never seen it before. Is there a mechanical hand that comes out at the touch of a button and............?
Glad to see you have the same crumb collectors as me on the front
Camera flashes do tend to grey the black interiors up a lot. When I first drove an e60 it was black with dark poplar and the one I wanted.
Look forward to your posts after you've done a few more miles.

I've only noticed the flaps on petrol E60's. I thought they were electrically operated and opened up as the engine temperature increased. There to help a quicker engine warm up on cold starts.

Post was from Flowerfred and he's got a 530d, so the diesels do have them.

Hi, congrats on the car. A word of advice as you live in London as well, I had an attempted theft of my wheels just after I got my car so I would recommend investing in some McGuard Ultra locking bolts as the standard fit BMW ones are useless. Luckily for me I had some McGuard's fitted which I had transferred from my previous M3.

May not be a problem now as there are a lot more E60 Sport's around but better safe than sorry.

Strange they don't fit them now. I certainly don't recall them on my last one.

Just thought I would add - Active Cruise is amazing - I tried it on the A10 going to find out about which radar detector to get from The Navigation Company - and its like being pulled along by the car in front with a long elastic! I've never really been a fan of cruise control, but this is really cool!

And by the way, The Navigation Company were really helpfull too - just need to decide between an Origin B2 and a Micro Road Pilot now - The B2 is just too big and obtrusive, I really cant figure out where to put it so that it (too many buttons).

Any tips welcome - I need radar and europe cover.
