Hi All:

I have added a section pertaining to my known magazine test results for the 535d and have added clived's results for Santa Pod Raceway on the 5-series Straight-Line Performance Discussion thread. It would be great if you would join in the discussion. Many topics have been discussed that you you might be interested in. And, please add your own discussion items pertaining to the 535d. And, of course, the thread is for all 5-series cars. So, all 5er guys and gals "come on down."

i don't see the point in your reply. You are really becoming offensive. I am going to sic 700700 on you if you don't watch out. Don't you want to 535d and clived to get the well deserved press they deserve?

Well, people won't know otherwise. The thread I linked to is way down. Sometimes you have to advertise. If people don't know that there is something for them in a continuing thread, then they won't know to look. I think that we shouldn't object to the threads of others. That's the mods' job.

Znod If you ever get to drive a 535d I think you'll be shocked at how amazing the car is. Forget the 535d v 545i debate for a moment. The 535d is an amazing piece of kit the available acceleration and the way it shrinks the road ahead is just fcuking awesome UK Top Gear magazine gives it 16/20 and that is some acolade, especially from them, as JC hates diesels and no other car scores more than 16/20. The low down pull is staggering period

Right Merv. I think the 535d is an exceptional car. I do wish I could drive one. I think I'll look into renting one one our next Europe trip. I have driven diesels in France and Italy on our last two trips and liked both cars very well, but I know I would like the 545d much better. I have not driven in London (where we stay for a week or so very often) since I like the tube (its fun for us), and I am not up to the traffic when having to drive on an unfamiliar side of the road.

Absolutely true. I have seen one test of the 530d on the BMW Germany site; it's not nearly as fast as the 535d.
