Does any one know will a 520d gearbox m/t bolt straight onto a 535d engine that was automatic .....(have a 08 520d msport manual with a blown engine....and was going to buy a wrecked auto 535d with all the running gear intact) and didn't want the hassle of putting it all automatic ....

I would suggest going to realoem.com and put the two different vehicle models in and see if they use the same manual transmission part number.

Didn't really help because I presume the 535d never came wit a manual as the normal box probably wouldnt be good enough for the torque of the 3.0l.....as long as they fitted and worked I wudn mind...because its costing me as much to get a replacement n47 engine than to buy the wrecker 535d....and tanks

Fair point. 520d and 535d do appear to use different automatic transmissions so it would certainly be possible your driveshaft wouldn't be the right length and it may not bolt up. Bummer.
