My father owns a 745i which I've driven quite extensively. Whilst it is certainly a very comfortable car in every respect, I must say that the driving pleasure of my 535d is far better, both in terms of handling and engine's performance. Hence, if I was in your shoes, I would have no doubts, also bearing in mind that the 730d has more than 100 hps less than the 745. Plus you're only 27 and you still have plenty of time to settle down and buy your 7er ... ideally with a chauffeur :winkcool:

It has always been my experience that the "gut" or heart, if you will, will finally decide for you.

535d.. Although the 730d is a great car too..

Get the comfort seats anyway so you'll sit the same in both cars..

The 535d and the 730d equally specced, cost exactly the same in Morocco. The resale value of a 7 is much higher than a 5 specially with diesels. The only thing is that the e60 is going for another five and half years of life but the 7 serie have only 3 and half year left. After all that's not a problem since im planing to lease for four years and then change it again if the business doesn't go down of course (crossing fingers ). I can't help it, i love driving but the feeling i get when driving my car and having a 7 passing by is undescribable! I have no problem with the chris bangle 7 design plus they made the facelifted front exactly the way i wanted it. We have plenty of fives and cayennes cruising in the streets (you would really be amazed) but only few sevens!
I also find that the interior quality and feel is better than the five.

My only problem would be "This guy is for sure driving his dad's car!!!"

What a tough decision ! If you were speaking about 530d and 730d, there would the 7-er the winner. But 535d? Common! Don't hesitate and go for it! Well OK - Other factor is how good your roads are in Morocco. If the level of comfort you are used to doesn't upset you, you don't really need 7 series.

The 7 will be relaunched next year with a complete new body/interior so a 7 will be dated very quickly, The 5 will stay fresh for the next 3 years, Go for the 5

Cheers
