My Ride: E39 525d, orient blue with beige interior. Planing on getting an E60 535d next summer when my lease on my E39 is over :)

I have a problem deciding if i should go for the 535d or the 730d. Equally loaded, they are at the same price here. I love the 535d M-pack it kicks a** but there is so much class in the 7 series. Plus the 730d has 231hp now and so much torque too.
I'm so confused.
If the price was the same which one would you go for and why?

730d.. what a fabulous car!

I've driven a 730d, but not the 535d (though, our last car was a 535i).. but I guess I'd go for a 730d. Compared to the E60 the Siebener seems more refined in every aspect. But if you're young and would use the car at work or something, I'm pretty sure the 7er wouldn't provide a positive boost to your image

Go for the 535d sport its a fabulous package IMHO the 7 still looks a bit weird even with the face lift. Try them both I'm sure the 7 is still some fun to drive.

I'm only 27, i own a construction business.Ive owned my five since i was 22 so im used to driving big cars. So yes paasan, im young and ill be using the car for work, visiting construction sites and doing a lot of highway driving. I have been waiting since last year for the 535d engine but the 730d being at the same price makes me so confused!!!

tend to agree that the 7 is a bit 'old' I'm afraid - when I first bought my e39 I thought that was too old, when the 7 came out I was interested, but it's just WAY too big, espcially for this side of the pond - go for the 535, plenty of time to go for a boat later! Besides the emotional reason, I would imagine the resale on the 5 would be better too.
