535 HPFP Failures, Want to start a list.

my symptoms seemed to fit, the advisor said they 'need' to have the car duplicate the problem as part of their trouble shooting for a warranty repair. At any rate, after that call, i had said that the hpfp seems to be a common issue on these cars, the symptoms fit, and if they actually go out and drive the car, it will show the fault. Got a call the next day saying it's done, new hpfp installed, all is fine.

Lost to Dreaded E61 Sun roof leaks:

I'm on #4 , went threw 3 in the time span of Nov08- mid Jan 09
knock on Wood , I'm all good right now. on 07-08 N54 motored cars BMW upped the warranty on the HPFP 10 years 120,000 miles. The 09 and 10 are still having issues according to two other major online forums.
A lot of dealers now are trying to cop out on the replacement due to High Ethanol content gas. I think BMW has another $#%t storm brewing with the Turbo lag issue still on going as well as the Waste gate rattle ( imagine that, they are both related ?).
Audi has had Direct injection on the US cars now for well over 6 years, and I've never heard of any HPFP failures on the 2.0 or the 3.2 FSI's same for the VW's on the 2.0, 3.2, and 3.8's...
For people that do have HPFP issues , you need too make sure they run full diagnostic , and make sure that there is not low fuel pressure issues before the HPFP. If there is there could be some other issues.
There also seems to be an increasing number of cars that are having the Injectors replaced too with the HPFP and the Software update.
I think there is a New TSB on it and will see if I can find it.
