535 - Aero Kit

My Ride: 2008 550i, Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Nav, Jet Black, natural brown interior, automatic, Logic 7, ipod, lane departure warning.
I ordered a 535xi on December 4th, and have been patiently waiting (yeah right 
) for my ride to arrive (scheduled to hit port on 1/7 - yeah baby). About two weeks ago, I spoke to my dealer and told him that I wanted to go with the M aero kit, which is installed at the port, for $3,300. Everything was set, I had my heart set on it, and yesterday I come to find out that the M aero kit is not available on the 5 series (or thats what they're telling me). WTF is that all about? Its part of the 550 sport package...Just venting, but I do not understand why it would be on bmwusa.com as an option, and then told that its not. Has anyone heard of this before? Any suggestions how to get the kit after the fact?

According to the web site its a dealer installed option. It only showed up within the last week or so, so there's probably still a little confusion while the details get sorted out.

I'll say get back with the CA and see if the kit can be installed at the dealer instead. If you lease, this could be a lump sum payment instead amortized. Also check if you get to keep the original bumpers, either for you to sell on ebay or put them back at lease return.

My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
In Canada the M Sport Package can be ordered as a Factory option on 535s , your CA is confused.... good luck.

I've been considering doing this also(though I haven't made any calls yet). Please keep us updated on how it's going, and maybe some pics if you get it done.

Did same with 535xi. Originally asked my CA to have the Aero kit installed at VPC. She looked into it and told me they no longer do it there. Worked it out that they would install on the car at the body shop at the dealer. Unfortunately they ordered the kit for the 07 instead of the 08. So the car has been there for 4 days and I'm still waiting for the right kit to arrive. Hopefully will pick up car by end of next week.
