High Beam problem and unknown wire
I have recently purchased a 2009 528i and I have not been able to turn on the high beams. They will not turn on at all whether I push in or pull the stalk. The light indicator will also not turn on for the high beams. Everything else on that stalk does work however.
Also found a wire in the engine bay that I don't know where it goes to or what it does. Does it have to do with the high beams?
Please help and thanks in advance!

The unknown connector could be a connector for a battery tender. Trace the wires back and see if a red wire goes to the jumpstart terminal on the drivers side and the black wire is grounded in that area also.

Look around for sockets that would fit. Typically things get disconnected when people take things apart. Sometimes they don't get connected again. If the wire appears to be factory dressed in the harness, it can only fit in a certain area. I'm sure you'll find where it belongs if you look carefully.
