Bottom line -- I'm not sure why I would want an old 5 series M when I can get the new e60 M. Moreover, I would probably be more interested in the new 3 series M (rumored to be 400 hp V8) than an old E39M....

...if they bring the 540i here, i think it may be a great fit, im seriously considering it vs. the new 3.0...

[/quote]Is the 540i supposed to utilize the engine from the 545i or is it going to be a new engine? Given the 3 liter in the 525i, I suppose a 4.4 liter in the 540i isn't out of the question...
