Next month I plan on taking the car off of the road for a few days and doing a long list of 'preventative maintenance' things to the car. I plan on replacing the water pump, all pulleys and tensioners, valve cover gasket, plugs, oil filter housing gasket, thermostat, and drive belts - all in an effort to stave off 'that call' from the girlfriend since she drives the car the most.

My question pertains to the oil separator. We live in Florida, so I'm not worried about freezing. I am worried about condensation and sludge buildup inside of the tubes and valve itself. I have read a ton of threads regarding failures, and they all seem to be in cold climates. Is this something I should add to my list, or would it be OK to leave it alone? We're not having any problems with the car (knock on wood) at the moment, so I don't necessarily want to go overboard with repairs to the point where I'm replacing things that don't typically fail. Car has 94K on it.

Thanks for any input.

No need to worry, southern florida isn't an issue. We have E39 which is M52TU and that succer has almost 300K on it and not an issue. My 04 530 M54 has 130K and still running like new, my 03 Z4 M54 has about 89K on it now and still like new. Definitely no need to worry.
