If you had the choice which would you choose?

Im curious because according to official figures the 530 does about 0.4 mpg less than the 525 but is around a second faster to 60 at 6.5secs and has a higher top speed.
Currently looking at both and wondering which is the better car to go for....

Diesel is a no no (before you say anything) as ive had some problems with them before and just prefer petrol.

I'm in agreement with Skaffa.
Afterall, don't you want your "M Sport" car to zoom as fast as it looks?

I had the same dilemma but went with the 530i M Sport in the end. The 530i is genuinely quicker and feels it. In terms of UK price difference, you get metallic paint std on the 530i whilst it costs about ?600 extra on the 525i.

In terms of options whatever you do, go for the high gloss shadowline. Its about ?100 but looks the business, noticeably nicer and more prestigious looking than the matt shadowline (even my dealer commented on it) and easy as eating pie to keep clean. My car is silver grey and I have seen in on a black car as well - it looks great with both. Top it up with privacy glass and the car from the outside will look the dogs bollocks !!

If money is not an issue and you'll have to give up some cool extras then 530i is excellent piece of machinery. Excellent consumption; flexibile; fast; silent; all
