I am taking delivery of my 530d UK next week for March 1st and having read on the forum about different software versions, how can I tell what version the car has? is there a engineer mode, certain key presses perhaps or does it tell you on boot up, just curious and to see if the dealer has done the PDI correctly.
Ordered: 530d Titanium Grey II, Auto, Xeon & Adaptive, Black Dakota, Heated F/S, Hi-Fi Speakers, 6 CD, Style 124 wheels, Sun Protection Glass, de-chromed, Rear Spoiler. Service Pack. |
Yes, if you press the mileage reset button for 10 seconds, you will get to the service menu.
I think that options 6 and 7 in menu 1 hold the software version! Please let me know your values when you get the car. i have the following values: 1.06 - SW (04.07.30) 1.07 - KODIERDATEN (06.02.50.04) my car was built on 14.11.2003 (option 1.04) Cheers |
Is SW the software version? I can't figure this out.

I think we're all wasting our time trying to review the software version ourselves. Look at the email I got about this:
Hi, i don't want to tell you all the data displayed in the KOMBI, but I can tell you that there is ( currently ) no way to find out about the softwareversion OF THE CAR from inside the car. The only things you may find out are the individual software versions of the single controlunits, but as there are sometimes not all controlunits included in an software update there is no way to judge from the individual version to the version of the car You should ask you mechanican which software version he used to upgrade the car... |
