528i Hard shifting from 3rd to 4th
 

Hello everyone and thank you in advance for any info. I have a 08 528i but I've been having problems with my car shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. I've taken it to a mechanic and they want to swap out the transmission. But I figured that was pretty costly since it's only having a problem with literally one gear shift. Every other shift is great and it runs amazing except for a low idle. I was wondering if anyone might have any insight?

You need to drop the oil pan, replace all the rubber seals and the mechatronix sleeve and properly refill the transmission with the correct oil (and not some multipurpose oil you get at the autoparts store).
