Former E60 520i (2.1 litres, 170hp) was substituted last march by the new 523i, same engine that 525i (non US version, 2.5 litres), with 177hp and some more torque (230Nm instead of 210)

Best sellers here:

525d
520i
530d
525i
535d (strange animal here...)
545i (very strange animal...)
M5 (very, very, very strange animal...)

2.2l btw

Probably the best seller here and I'd assume Denmark too. That is defnitely casued by the obscene taxation on car sales over here.

passan:

In Denmark on of the best seller is 520i - that's right. But we do have a lot of 530dA's as cabs here in Denmark (only 30% taxes on cabs).

btw - i'm moving from Sweden til Denmark, and just got the car on Danish plates yesterday ;-) That was a expensive day :-(

I can imagine that being expensive yes

Sure, quite a lot of 530ds and 525is here too.. few 545is, but some 535ds.. However 520i is the most frequent model.

How much did you have to pay in taxes to register the car in Denmark? What is the fine for driving a Swedish car in Denmark, when your citizenship is Danish?

The fines for driving a Swedish car in Denmark is: taxes on the car (they check the car you drive, for equiptment, milage, and so on) + 40% extra!!

Actually I see a lot of cars with Swedish plates in the capital of Denmark (Copenhagen), with Danish drivers!

What did we pay? Let me say it this way: the current value of the car in sweden + the taxes = a brand new BMW M5 in Sweden, with a nice spec. That sucks! :'( :'(

I understand we some people move from Denmark, to Sweden, or just buy a Swedish car

My current E60 is a 520 sport with the 2.2l engine as was my SE E60. The 2.2 was made until March 05 when it was replaced with the new 2.5l badged 523. Unfortunately when I ordered my new car there had been no mention of the 523. However I can't fault the 2.2 engine and my new car is running very well. No rattles or squeaks now that the grille at base of rear screen has been replaced.
