My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
What makes BMW unique is the sport package and the SMG/Manual trannys. If this does not interest you the japanese competition becomes a viable option.

My Ride: 2007 X5 4.8i
With 7600 miles and absolutely no problems, my 545i is the best new car I've ever owned. (Much better than my '02 E39). Lucky for BMW, I just completed a J.D. Power survey.
