OEM Style 123 alloy wheels 245/40R-18 cracked.

I just got back from the tire shop to get a slow leak fixed only to find out that the rim is cracked ........ AGAIN.

This will be the 3rd rim I have bought for this car since I bought it back in September of 2004.

Considering I baby the hell out of this car and go slow over every single bump and road imperfection, is it normal to be replacing my 3rd rim?

Is there any recourse for me? I bought the previous last 2 OEM replacements from Gary at Newport BMW.

I guess your only recourse is to get out of the 123s altogether and upgrade.

There are alot of sweet looking 18" wheels out there if you want to keep your tires and those size wheels.

Are you running on runflats?

No. Switched out of those rough riders years ago.

I have style 123 with non-runflats 245/40R-18. Front 32 PSI, rear 37 PSI. Year round daily driver. No issue.

I bought this rim about 23 months ago.

I believe there is a 2-year warranty on BMW parts, including wheels.

I am going to look into it tomorrow.

Edit:

Keep your fingers crossed for me. It looks like many have had these issues with BMW alloys and it's a fight to get them replaced FOC. The interwebs are littered with stories.
Here's a couple:

This will be my THIRD NEW RIM for crying out loud!

It's not like I take this thing off-road or drive through potholes!

Ridiculous.

No dice.

My BMW dealer said they would not warranty a cracked rim.

Not even a 3rd cracked rim.

I've had low profile rims on several other vehicles and never once had a cracked rim. And that was when I was younger and drove those cars much, much harder than I drive this car.

This is probably the last straw for me.

I will not be buying another BMW in the future.

Only 7K miles on my 2010 535i M sport and I already had one rim replaced but I let the dealer talk me into tire and wheel insurance so what me worry!

Looking forward to replacing the runflats with all-weather tires this fall! If I don;'t buy another BMW it will be because of the HPFP!
