The CLK550 has 382 HP/391 Torque and weighs less than the 545i. Based on these numbers the CLK 550 would be faster. Won't really know until someone goes up against one.

Yes sir! Fortunately, I will be heading towards Orange County and LA this Friday. Will be on the prowl for some Mercedes 550 models. 
I'll tell hollywoodtrash as well. His neighborhood (Huntington Beach, which is considered part of Orange County) is a hot bed of European cars.

2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
Sad to say fellas, but I don't think any stock 335i, 545is or even 550is for that matter stand a chance against a CLK 550....those monsters are just too darn fast....

yeah 335i is great for tuners it seems. They already have this XEDE chip out that boosts HP and torque nearly 60! cost is about 1300usd.
pretty exciting stuff for e90 owners. I am afraid to say 545i and 550i won't be able to hold their own for much longer against this turbo engine. 535i is gonna be just as easy to tune.

Hopefully VF engineering can get this mythical supercharger they have been working on out soon. Maybe then we can finally start seeing something interesting happen here. I really hope someone comes out with a good forced induction option for us V8 owners.

The manual 545i (like the SMG) has TOO long gears ... If the 545i was Steptronic bye bye 335i .
